Batman Ensemble and My Shorts on the Line Entry

Picture 011a
My sons new obsession with Batman inspired this little outfit.  The shirt  is The Henry pattern from the book Sewing for Boys.  The curved yoke/sleeve piece was a little bit of a challenge, but I think the end result was well worth the effort.  I used a shortened version of the free Kid Pants pattern from MADE for his shorts.  I added patch pockets and pocket flaps to the sides to resemble cargo pockets.
I machine embroidered Batman symbols that I had reduced in size , from Max California, onto the pocket flaps by tracing them onto Stitch N Tear.  I then pinning the Stitch N Tear to the pocket flaps and followed my line with royal blue thread embroidery thread.

The pockets themselves have appliquéd pieces from the batman fabric applied with Wonder Under and satin stitched

Had a hard time getting him to stand still for photos…all he wanted to do was run.
